Choosing your wedding shoes

If you are planning an outdoor wedding, give some thought to your wedding shoes and those of your attendants. For stability, elegance and comfort, especially for your bridal procession over uneven ground, why not consider a wedge or a stack heel.
So often I see brides and their bridesmaids tippy toeing down the aisle or impaled in the grass and it’s not a good look.
There are some fabulous shoes out there and some forward thinking can save your feet, your photographs and give you confidence on the big day.

Something for when those we love are taken away far too early

Do Not Judge

Do not judge a biography by its length,
Nor by the number of pages in it.
Judge it by the richness of its contents
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most poignant…
Do not judge a song by its duration
Nor by the number of its notes
Judge it by the way it touches and lifts the soul
Sometimes those unfinished are among the most beautiful…
And when something has enriched your life
And when its melody lingers on in your heart
Is it unfinished?
Or is it endless?

Wedding Idea!

Here’s a beautiful idea for your wedding day! Each letter of the word LOVE was made from wooden cut outs and filled with succulents and sphagnum moss.

Captain Corelli’s Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres

Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your root was so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

A powerful wedding reading!

Vineyard Wedding

This beautiful wine box has been hand crafted by my groom for his wedding next weekend at St Leonard’s Vineyard, Wahgunyah Victoria. So lovingly crafted, it will have two love letters inserted, then sealed as part of the ceremony. The box will be opened, the wine drunk and the letter read on their third anniversary. Such a meaningful ritual for a vineyard wedding!
